Spicy Thai Beef Salad - New Recipe!

Spicy Thai Beef Salad

This past week I was experimenting with my new Chilli Lime Sauce and came up with this absolutely incredible tasting recipe.  It really only took about 10 minutes to make.  I marinated the beef for about 30 minutes in an air tight Ziploc bag.  I am not sure if it is possible but it might have even been better if I had marinated the beef overnight.  Will test that one this week!  Or, one of these days I will get around to buying a "food saver" machine that makes everything air tight.  That is really the best way to marinate meat.  The combination of the tomatoes, cucumber and onions was an excellent touch.  Of course you can use whatever vegetables you have available in your refrigerator.  I am positive this would be a great recipe with chicken, shrimp or about any other protein as well.  The quality of the Chilli lime sauce ingredients were the best available in Thailand.  Once you take your first bite you will definitely agree.  Check out our recipe with step-by-step pictures here...  Spicy Thai Beef Salad Recipe

Ebay Store - 84 Positive Feedback in a row!

Ebay

We do not sell too many items on Ebay as our CurrySimple website is our focus.  It is a good tool to attract new customers for our site.  I just checked the account today and noticed we have had 84 positive feedback comments in a row without a negative comment.  The Thai tea is our big seller on the site as people for some reason search for Thai tea on ebay more than curry sauces.  Read what our Ebay customers are saying on our customer feedback page.

Fabulous Food Show in Cleveland - Let' do it!

Fabulous Food Show

We are hitting the road for a 700 mile journey to Cleveland Ohio for the Fabulous Food Show.  This will be our first time at the show and look to build up our customer base in the north.  Cold weather and spicy Thai food go perfect together.  The event expects about 30k people and is held at International Exposition Center.  This is a huge venue!  The main attraction will be Alton Brown from Atlanta and The Food Network.  It would be really cool if I ran into him as we were featured in the same issue of Atlanta Magazine in April.  I do not get to watch much TV but I do enjoy his shows.

About the show:

  • Friday November 9 - Sunday November 11 2007
  • Tickets are $25 when purchased in advance
  • Sampling passports for wine & beer are an extra 10 bucks
  • There are 7,500 parking spaces available - $8 per car (I should go into the parking business)
  • CurrySimple will be there!

I will document the trip with pictures and videos to be posted after the show.  You can find more information at The Fabulous Food Show website.

New Sauces are here!

New Sauce Combo Package

I am excited to announce our new sauces are finally here!  The CurrySimple lineup now includes a sweet heat chilli sauce, chilli lime sauce and mango stir-fry sauce.  The sweet chilli sauce is great for dipping appetizers and really about everything else including chicken, seafood and crispy tofu.  The chilli lime sauce is excellent with all seafood.  It has a nice spice and a flavor that will leave you wanting more and more.  It is actually my favorite of the bunch because it is just so unique.  The mango stir-fry sauce will all a nice flavor to all proteins.  You can marinate them in the sauce or just add it to your next chicken and veggies stir-fry.  There are an unlimited amount of new recipes that can be used with these sauces.  Get cooking!

Thai Tea Cookies Recipe - Yummy!

Thai Tea Cookies

This is an excellent Thai Tea cookie recipe I found online earlier this year.  It uses the versatile Thai tea syrup that is great for cookies, cupcakes, and various drinks.  It is really easy to make and the cookies look a little extra beautiful when using a cookie press.  Check out the Thai Tea Cookies recipe and get cooking!

Amazon.com Blog loves us!

Amazon Logo

I was so excited to find out we have been mentioned on the "Amazon al Dente's Blog".  Sous-Chef on the Run had her first CurrySimple green curry and massaman curry experience.  To our delight she loved it!  "The result surprised me--the preparation was super simple, the flavor and spice level was hot but not overpowering, and the plates were licked clean!".  Want to find out what else was said?  Check out the blog post here.

Blogged about on Coolate.com

Not only did blog owner Andy write us a recipe but he also wrote a CurrySimple review on his Coolate.com website.  He is now a huge fan of our red curry sauce.  Check out the many step-by-step photos of his Sausage Red Curry Recipe.  Does he reccomend us to his friends?  You bet!  Check out the review!  CurrySimple Review

Sausage Red Curry Recipe

Sausage Red Curry

Check out our new Sausage Red Curry Recipe submitted by a CurrySimple customer.  I personally would never have thought to mix the Red curry with sausage.  Andy, the creator said it was excellent.  It is loaded with all types of veggies to soak up the medium spicy red curry sauce.  The great thing about interaction with our customers from different places and different backgrounds is that you can find out so many new things.  One benefit of CurrySimple curry sauces is that you can make unique Asian fusion style recipes with ease.  With the sauce already prepared (the hard part) you can get really creative with a wonderful result.  Thanks for the recipe Andy!

Taste of Atlanta - We will be there!

Taste of Atlanta

We are excited to be a part of this huge event!  With a crowd of about 30k, Taste of Atlanta is the most popular and attended food event in Atlanta.  This will be it's second year at Atlantic Station.  Atlantic Station is the perfect location for such an event.  It is a mini city sitting on a four story parking deck.  Parking should not be a problem!  The event will host 70 of Atlanta's top restaurants, gourmet food companies (CurrySimple!!!), and a wine tasting event at the Ten Pin Alley bowling alley/bar.  Rocco DiSpirito of the TV show "The Restaurant" will be there.  Where has he been?  Anyway, there will be a few other well known food personalities attending as well.  We plan on "wowing" the crowd with health samples of our sauces.  I am excited to be in front of such a large crowd to promote CurrySimple's existence any many local Atlanta stores.  Many people have read about us in the newspapers and magazines but have not had a chance to give us a try.  The event should help elevate the CurrySimple buzz in Atlanta.   If you own a food brand and your not at your local food shows... take a little hint that you better start.  General admission tickets are $25 and the VIP tickets run 50 bucks.  Don't miss this once a year event and come see us!

Wine South Atlanta - We will be there!

Wine South Atlanta

Last Minute!  We have decided to present at The 8th annual Wine South Atlanta at the Georgia World Congress center.  The festival is from 1pm-5pm both Saturday September 29th (my birthday!!!) and Sunday September 30th.  This will be the first year for the show at the World Congress Center as well as CurrySimple's first appearance there.  It will be a wonderful wine and food experience.  Hopefully there will be some hungry wine reps that would like to trade some wine for some curry packets.  That is one of the best parts of the show!  There will be a chefs demo and tastings of wines from around the world.  You can find more info at the Wine South official website.  Stop by and pair some fabulous wines with some fabulous curries.  Hope to see you there!

New Retail Locations!

We have started to pop up on shelves in the Florida Whole Foods locations.  We just added Coral Gables, Ft. Lauderdale and Aventura.  Hopefully CurrySimple will be placed in the remaining stores in the next month.  What is going to happen with the Whole Foods acquisition of Wild Oats?  Well hopefully they will become more retail locations for us.  Time will tell!  The move to the north is on our agenda.  The availability in the DC Metro area is crucial.  With already doing 4 large food shows in the area and being featured in the Washington Post and Northern Virginia Magazine has created a hungry following.  What about moving to the West Coast?  Not yet.  It is more of a logistics issue at this point.  Planning is in the works for next year.  Stay tuned!

Rockin' at Whole Foods Lavista

I received a call this past Monday from my business parter Lim about a friend that had contacted him on Sunday. His friend had visited the Whole Foods store on the corner of Briarcliff and Lavista to purchase the red curry sauce to make an excellent dinner at home. Well unfortunately (actually fortunately) the store was sold out of the red curry sauce. As a matter of fact, they were also sold out of the green and massaman curries as well. Wow! I was curios to see if it was true so I took a moment to visit the store Monday night. To my surprise, they were now sold out of the yellow curry as well with just a few packs of coconut soup spread across the empty space. Questions going through my head: When was the last time the shelves were actually stocked? Why can't it sell just like this at every store? I called my distributor on Tuesday to get a little more information on the situation. I talked with Elliot and asked him when the last time he had visited the WF store. He said he was there on Monday and yes he noticed the shelves were about completely empty. "When was the last time they were re-stocked", I asked him. "The Friday a few days prior", he replied. OMG! That is amazing. I have a feeling all my hard work and grass roots marketing is starting to work. A special thanks to all my customer at the WF on the corner of Briarcliff and Lavista for making my week.
